Dr. Eyad Alkassar

Eyad grew up in Germany, where he earned a Ph.D. Summa Cum Laude in Computer Science from Saarland University. Before joining Rocket Internet as Managing Director of Middle East, Eyad worked as Senior Researcher in Computer Science. During his studies he was a fellow of the German National Academic Foundation. Eyad is a co-founder of Namshi.com. In the fall of 2013, he became the Co-Founder of the Middle East Internet Group.

He finished his PhD in theoretical computer science with highest honors from the Max-Planck Institute for Informatics in Germany. He is currently the CEO of Easy Taxi Middle East - one of the hottest startups in the Middle East backed by Rocket Internet, iMena and Mobily Ventures.

Kathryn Saunders

Kathryn studied philosophy at University College London before starting her career in Deloitte's London office, focusing on technology, media and telecoms. She qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAEW) in 2009, before moving to the Middle East and joining Deloitte's corporate finance practice in 2011. Given the opportunity to be part of the Middle East's online revolution, she joined MEIG in 2014 and is responsible for finance, investor relations, legal, risk & compliance and internal audit.
